Why didn't compressing my PDF make it smaller?
Compression repacks content streams and strips metadata. PDFs that are already optimized sometimes can't be made smaller — when that happens, OfflyPDF keeps your original file rather than saving a worse copy. Image-heavy documents shrink the most when built through Image to PDF or Scan, which downsample at the source.
Does OfflyPDF need an internet connection?
No. OfflyPDF has no internet permission at all — every tool works fully offline, including on a phone in airplane mode.
I forgot the password I used to protect a PDF. Can you recover it?
No. Passwords are computed and applied entirely on-device and are never sent to us or stored anywhere outside your protected file. We have no way to recover a lost password — please keep a secure record of any password you set.
Which signature method should I use?
Draw Signature is fastest for casual use. Image Signature is best if you already have a signature image. Cryptographic PKI (.pfx/.p12) is for documents that require a verifiable digital certificate.
